Robs Lamploughs aircraft share their base between North Weald, Filton and a farm strip at East Garston, about 15 miles east of Swindon. Robs P-51D Mustang G-BIXL/472216 is occasionally based here for maintenance.

MK Airlines have a maintenance base at Filton, operating out of the Centre and West Bays of the main hangar. Click here for the MK Airlines fleet of Boeing 747s. MK Airlines also operated Douglas DC-8's until 2005, and several are stored at Filton.

Aeros Flying Club of Gloucestershire have a second base at Filton. Aeros use the callsign "Fastpath". Several Piper PA-28 Cherokees can be based at Filton at any one time, these include:

Cruiser 141 - G-SCPL; Warrior 151 - G-BPKR
Warrior 161 - G-BMTR, G-BRBB, G-BSOK, G-BSXB

Regular visitors

There are scheduled 'air bridge' services operated for BAE Systems and Airbus UK. These are:

For more details see the Bristol Filton Airport website.

CSE Aviation (callsign "Oxford") frequently uses Filton for training flights, using Seneca and Cherokee aircraft.

Several charter and business aircraft visit on a regular basis. Corvette bizjets operated by Airbus are frequently on the ground during the day, flying from and to Toulouse (typically drawn from F-GFDH, F-GILM, F-GJAP, F-GJAS, F-GKGA, F-GLEC and F-GPLA).

Non-airworthy Residents

G-ALGT/RM689 - VS.379 Spitfire F Mk.XIV

This Spitfire is the basis of a rebuild project currently underway at Filton. Following World War II, RM689 was operated by Rolls-Royce as engine test-bed, chase plane, and as an air show performer. In June 1992 it was virtually destroyed following a crash during a display at Woodford. The remains were placed in storage, but in 2002 rebuild work started at Sandown on the Isle of Wight, and the fuselage was transported to Filton in November 2004. The wings have been rebuilt in the Midlands. The aircraft is in the '501' hangar, and is not visible from the airfield perimeter.

WH665 - English Electric Canberra T Mk.17

Sits on the dump (also known as Palm Beach), which is north of the main runway. The airframe is a composite, and includes the starboard wing of Q497, an undelivered Indian Air Force T Mk.4. It had arrived from Salmesbury by the end of 1988. It is expected to go to the National Diving Centre at Chepstow, and will be submerged in its flooded quarry.

G-BOAF - BAC/Aerospatiale Concorde 101

With the retirement of Concorde in 2003, Airbus UK and the Bristol Aero Collection were the fortunate recipients of one of the British Airways fleet. G-BOAF, Concorde 216, was the last Concorde built, its first flight from Filton was in 1979. It arrived at Filton for preservation on 26th November 2003, the flight was the last ever flight of a Concorde, and included a supersonic trip round the Bay of Biscay, and a low pass over Bristol.
The aircraft is expected to be the part of a new aircraft museum planned for Filton. Until then, a visitors centre has been set up. Tickets can be purchased on-line at http://www.concordeatfilton.org.uk.

G-JEAO - British Aerospace 146 100

This early-model 146 landed at Filton on 7th January 2003 for storage, along with several other 146's. One by one the others left, but G-JEAO has remained. BAE Systems now maintains its 146's for leasing at Kemble. This aircraft was a daily visitor to Filton in the 1990's, when it was the regular aircraft on the Filton-Toulouse factory air bridge.

Note: G-JEAO was dismantled in July 2009, and the fuselage departed to London Colney by road on 27/07/2009. For preservation with de Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre.

RCAF 9048 - Fairchild/Bristol 149 Bolingbroke IV

This aircraft arrived in sections at Filton during July and August 2006, for restoration by the Bristol Aero Collection. The Bolingbroke is the Canadian-built version of the Bristol Blenheim IV. It will be restored to static condition for display in the future museum planned for Filton. The components are being restored in several locations, and stored in hangar 16U at Filton until the aircraft is ready to be assembled.

? - Scottish Aviation Bulldog T.1

The remains of a former RAF Bulldog used by the Bristol Technical College is currently stored on the airfield, as from January 2008.
